職業災害發生時，除以保險給付儘速提供勞工補償，合理分擔雇主職業災害補償責任外，亦應有效連結災前預防與災後重建，有賴雇主及勞工配合政府政策順利協助職災勞工重返職場。
各事業單位、職業訓練機構及相關團體得依職業災害勞工保護法第10條規定，辦理職業災害預防及職業災害勞工之重建事項，向本署申請補助，期結合民間專業力量與政府攜手共同推動職災預防工作，及協助職災勞工參與職能復健順利重返職場。
另為協助職業災害勞工於醫療終止後重返就業場所，事業單位僱用職業災害勞工並提供其從事工作必要之輔助設施者，得依該法第20條規定給予補助。
