為落實勞工健康保護，即早偵測勞工健康異常情形，並作為雇主選配工及採行健康管理與職業病預防措施之參考依據，職業安全衛生法明定雇主於僱用勞工時應施行體格檢查，對在職勞工應施行健康檢查； 為確保勞工健檢品質，保障勞工權益，本署另於辦理勞工體格與健康檢查醫療機構認可及管理辦法明定健檢醫療機構及檢查人員之資格，為落實醫療機構之監督管理及制定工作相關疾病預防政策之需要，本署另建置全國勞工健康檢查資料庫，以有效管理健康檢查資料，並作為職業病預防政策規劃之參據。
