為加強勞工對化學物質危害之認知，確保化學品使用安全，預防化學品引起之危害，職業安全衛生法明定危害性化學品之製造者、輸入者、供應者及雇主，應提供或揭示安全資料表、製備清單及採取通識措施，並建立新化學物質登記源頭管理，及管制性化學品運作許可與優先管理化學品運作等重點管理新制，另雇主應依化學品危害性、散布情形及使用量等，評估風險等級並採取分級管理措施，以保護勞工的健康與生命安全。
